Ragazza pizzeria on Divis in the Lower Haight has been on my must-eat-at list for a few months now. Tom makes delicious pizza (homemade crust and all!), with toppings such as apple, potato, and rosemary; pear and prosciutto; and even an awesome grape pizza. So with all this appreciation (read: snobbery) for pizza, I love when we find a pizza place that satisfies those cravings when we’re too tired to make it ourselves.
I love cucumbers, perhaps because it soaks up surrounding flavors so well. So I had to get the heirloom tomato & serpentine cucumber salad with stracciatella, basil & balsamic vinaigrette. Did not disappoint!
And here is our delicious pizza we gobbled down. I was so hungry I could not wait to eat before taking a picture.
Black mission figs with caramelized onions, basil, Val d’Aosta fontina & speck (’cause you know I love cured meats!). The crust seemed to lack a little bit of flavor. Perhaps could have used a bit of salt. But the texture was good. And overall, this pizza was delicious. And our caraffe of Chianti Classico by Castello di Meleto melded everything together nicely. Can’t wait to go back!
