Ragazza Pizza

Ragazza pizzeria on Divis in the Lower Haight has been on my must-eat-at list for a few months now. Tom makes delicious pizza (homemade crust and all!), with toppings such as apple, potato, and rosemary; pear and prosciutto; and even an awesome grape pizza. So with all this appreciation (read: snobbery) for pizza, I love when we find a pizza place that satisfies those cravings when we’re too tired to make it ourselves.

I love cucumbers, perhaps because it soaks up surrounding flavors so well. So I had to get the heirloom tomato & serpentine cucumber salad with stracciatella, basil & balsamic vinaigrette. Did not disappoint!

And here is our delicious pizza we gobbled down. I was so hungry I could not wait to eat before taking a picture.

Black mission figs with caramelized onions, basil, Val d’Aosta fontina & speck (’cause you know I love cured meats!). The crust seemed to lack a little bit of flavor. Perhaps could have used a bit of salt. But the texture was good. And overall, this pizza was delicious. And our caraffe of Chianti Classico by Castello di Meleto melded everything together nicely. Can’t wait to go back!

Ferry Plaza Farmer’s Market

Saturday morning was beautiful. My kiddo was at a sleepover so I could sleep in and not have to start the day repeating myself over and over. Tom came back from his group run and declared that it’s a perfect day to ride our bikes to the Ferry Building and get some yummies at the farmer’s market. So that’s what we did.

Mouth watering fruit!

Can you believe that I didn’t like pears when I was a kid? I missed out on so much yummy goodness!

Nothing like a box of apples to remind you of the arrival of Autumn.

Grapes are like natures chips. You can’t eat just one.

More purple food goodness.

You say “To-may-to.” I say “Yum!”

We bought some awesome ingredients for that night’s dinner salad (watermelon radish, carrots, leafy greens, dried fruit), then meandered back inside the Ferry Building and noshed on steamed pork buns.

A perfect morning!

Red Delicious

A few weeks back I photographed a baby shower for a friend. As a thank you gift, I received this adorably cute coin purse. It makes me happy every time I see it. And my old coin purse, as much as I love it, is falling apart. So now I just have to get over my weird issue with using designer brands for mundane things and put some dirty old coins in there.

And here is one of the cakes served at the baby shower. A beautiful princess cake from Miette.
